lindsay's story
My story as a photographer probably started with my daddy's bedtime stories. He passed to me a love for the art of story-telling. My mom saved little books I wrote on construction paper stapled together with little crayon illustrations. In second grade, I discovered photography. Throughout my school years, my camera became an extra appendage. In college, I had trouble deciding how to harness my creativity and passion for story-telling. I completed several art and photography classes, and got involved with the college newspaper as photo editor my freshman and sophomore years and editor-in-chief my junior year. When a major had to be decided, I went with journalism. During my last semester before graduation, I worked at a small town newspaper as a reporter. I interviewed people from all walks of life. Each person had a unique story to share. I enjoyed telling the stories in words, but I was always envious of the photojournalists. I knew my heart was leading me back to photography. In 2006, A friend of a friend asked me to photograph her wedding, and that is when my career became solely photography.
Much more has happened in my life since I started OUTPhotos. Check out my blog to see what I’m up to today.
So I’ve told you my story, now let me tell yours.
