Well, hello! Welcome to the blog for Three Eleven Photography! Please pull up your chair, get comfy and take a few minutes to peruse my lastest work and other lovely ideas and inspirations on this blog. I am working on a new site that I am so excited to reveal very very soon. I will keep everyone updated right here.

If it's your first time here, let me tell you a little about Three Eleven and myself. My name is Lindsay Ann Corrigan. Photography is one of my passions in life and people are another. With Three Eleven, I get to combine these two things to make my job! I get to capture the most precious times in life and give them as a gift to relive over and over. Weddings, portraits... life. Everything beautiful in its time. (Ecclesiastes 3:11)

Oh, and if you enjoy what you see and read, please leave a comment!

Cheers!

Lindsay

First Day of School | The little girl is not so little anymore

When I went to wake up McG for her first day of preschool today, she immediately started grinning ear to ear while her eyes were still closed. As she tried to open her eyes, we had this discussion:

“Good morning!” I greet her.

“Where do you think we are going today,” she said before I can say anything else. (This is what I say when we have something fun to do that day.)

“I don’t know. Do you?” I answered.

“The beach,” she said quizzically.

“Noooo…” I said.

“I was just joking,” she said. “Church”

“Noooo…”

“Class school,” she at first whispered, then her voice got louder and higher in pitch as she did a little dance while her eyes were still closed, she was still laying down and had that same huge smile on her face.

Priceless.

The school hosted a donut breakfast and story time for the official first day of school for all the kids that started on Monday. We went to practice being on time, so technically the above photos are not from her first day of class.

We met up with some of her friends. Is the top middle photo not a foreshadowing for prom photos in about 15 years?

These are from her real first day of class. She picked out a “Keera backpack” (that is our chocolate lab’s name who is McG’s best friend.) She got to bring her favorite stuffed animal to class on the first day. This is her classroom door and her cubby.

She was still hyper when she got home and now is sleeping soundly. I’d say the day was pretty sublime for her.

Fourth of July Fun ∙ New Bern, NC

Fourth of July is a big day for our family, not only is it our country’s birthday, it is Josiah’s birthday. Yep, he’s a firecracker baby. So the theme of his party is always the same. Good thing he loves flag cakes! (Cute story: his older brother used to tell him the fireworks were all for his birthday.)

We celebrated with a gourmet picnic at Union Point Park in downtown New Bern. This year marks the 300th anniversary of New Bern, so the city went all out. There was an air show over the river with a sky diver, a really fast jet, the Cherry Point Rescue squad, and acts from a flying circus including a wing walker and stunt pilots. It was amazing! Mckenna pointed at the sky and said “pla, pla” over and over. This year was also the first year that Mckenna could actually watch the fireworks. She was only 5 months last year. And she loved them! She sat very still and quiet except for when she said “oooo, ahhhh!”

We had such a fun time eating delicious treats, seeing an exciting show and hearing great music with our dear friends!

This cake is made from the Jiffy recipe for Shortcake (doubled) and whipped cream for frosting. Yum! Our friend Claire grabbed this photo of us. We hardly ever get a complete family photo!

If you look really closely at the lefthand photo below, you can see the wingwalker in the Super Man position hanging on at the front of the plane between the wings.

We loaded all our supplies and Mckenna up in the wagon for the hike back to the car.
